Such metamorphoses occur over the length and breadth of the artist's generally white surfaces, but there also may be serveral layers of them that decrease the prospect of immediate legibility.

Doremus further increases the time required to sort out her compositions by working with various implements and media that give great variety of line. So not only do her forms appear to be in constant upheaval, but her methods of recording also are ever-changing."
